The River Falls Youth Baseball Organization supports three levels of competition for youth baseball. The most competitive level of play is the Traveling League which competes in the Gopher State League. Players are selected through a formal tryout process arranged by the RFYB Board. 4 th and 5 th Grade teams will be divided equally by talent, 6 th, 7 th and 8 th Grade teams will be divided into an A Team and a B Team if the tryout evaluations reflect the talent to support this level of play. If the try out evaluation numbers do not support an A and B Team, than two B Teams, one B and one C Team, or just one team may be selected. The next level of play is a Wisconsin Traveling League which will compete with Hudson’s youth baseball program, this league is only available to 7 th and 8 th Grade players. This is a new league in 2007 that the Board hopes to partner and grow with in the next couple of years. The next level is the In-House League which is viewed as a developmental league and will compete in River Falls. Tryouts are designed to assess the general athletic and baseball skill set of each athlete. The goal of try outs is to place each athlete at the level of competition in which they can be most productive and successful. Athletes will be evaluated in 5 categories. Athletes will be selected and placed on teams based upon the results of their try out score and last year’s post season evaluation completed by the coaching staff. The RFYB Board encourages positive parental involvement and hopes that you and your athlete have a successful and enjoyable experience with River Falls youth baseball. |
